AFCAT 1 2023 Application Fee

The application cost must be paid in full online. Candidates who register for the AFCAT must pay a non-refundable examination fee of Rs. 250/-. Candidates registering for NCC special entrance and Meteorology, however, do not need to pay.

AFCAT 1 2023 Eligibility

Candidates preparing for AFCAT 1 2023 exam must know the eligibility criteria for the exam, the eligibility criteria are listed below:

  • Educational Qualification

AFCAT 1 2023 Eligibility | Nationality

Candidate must be a citizen of India as per the Indian citizenship act, 1955.

AFCAT 1 2023 Eligibility | Age Limit

The age limit will be calculated as on January 1, 2024.

  • Flying Branch:  Candidates should be between 20 and 24 years. The upper age limit for candidates having a Commercial Pilot License is relaxed up to 26 years.
  • Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch: The age of candidates should be between 20 and 26 years.

AFCAT 1 2023 Educational Qualification

The Branch-wise educational qualifications are given below in the toggle:

Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level And

(a) Graduation with minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a
recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
(b) BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognised University with a
minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
(c) Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics)

Passed Class 12 with 60 percent each in Physics and Mathematics and four years degree in Engineering/Technology


Cleared Sections A and B of Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with 60 percent in disciplines specified by the examination authority

Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical)

Candidates must have passed Class 12 with 60 percent in Physics and Mathematics and degree/integrated post-graduation in Engineering/Technology


Cleared sections A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies with a minimum of 60 percent or equivalent in certain disciplines specified by IAF

Administration& Logistics

Graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 60 percent


Cleared section A&B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with 60 percent

Accounts Branch

Graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 60 percent.

Education Branch

Passed 10+2 and Post-Graduation with 50% marks in any discipline including integrated courses offering PG (Single degree without permission to exit and lateral entry) and with 60%marks in Graduation in any disciple.

Passed 10+2 and Post Graduate Degree in any Science stream/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Geography/ Computer Applications/ Environmental Science/ Applied Physics/ Oceanography/ Meteorology/ Agricultural Meteorology/ Ecology & Environment/ Geo-physics/ Environmental Biology with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together (Provided Maths and Physics were studied at Graduation Level with a minimum of 55% marks in each).

AFCAT 1 2023 Exam Pattern

The subjects, the time allowed and the maximum marks allotted to each subject will be as follows:-

  • The Online examination will consist of objective type questions and will be in English only for both AFCAT and EKT.
  • Marking Scheme is as follows:-
    • Three marks will be awarded for every correct answer.
    • One mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
    • No marks for unattempted questions.
