NDA 1 2023 Exam Details

National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination (I) 2023 will be conducted on April 16th, 2023. Candidates preparing for NDA/NA (I) 2023 have the best opportunity to join the defence force.

UPSC administers the NDA exam twice a year for admission to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the National Defence Academy as well as the Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). NDA 2023 accepts applications from both male and female candidates. The selection procedure includes a written exam and an SSB interview. In 2020, a total of 5.3 lakh candidates applied for the exam, with 2.4 lakh candidates taking the test. NDA 1 2023 Math Syllabus and NDA 1 2023 GAT Syllabus are discussed below in this article.

NDA 1 2023 Notification

The NDA 1 2023 notification will be made public on December 21, 2022. The NDA 2 notification 2023 will be made public on May 17, 2023. The NDA notification will be released to invite applications from eligible candidates who have completed Class 12 and are between the ages of 16.5 and 19.5 to join India's defence forces. NDA 1 2023 Exam Eligibility Details

The eligibility criteria for the NDA I 2023 exam is consists of Nationality, Age, Educational Qualifications, and Physical Standards. Through eligibility criteria are mentioned below:

A) NDA 1 2023: Nationality

A candidate must be unmarried male/female and must be -
(i) a citizen of India, or
(ii) a subject of Nepal, or
(iii) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

B) NDA 1 2023: Age Limit, Gender, and Marital Status

Only unmarried male/female candidates born not earlier than 02nd July 2004 and not later than 1st July 2007 are eligible.

Maximum Age ➤ 19.5 Years

C) NDA 1 2023: Education Qualifications

(i) For Army Wing of National Defence Academy:—12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

(ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy:—12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.

D) NDA 1 2023: Physical Standards

Candidates must be physically and medically fit to meet NDA eligibility requirements. The table below shows NDA physical eligibility for the Army, Navy, and Air Force. NDA height, weight, and chest measurements are required.

NDA 1 2023 Application Form

Interested candidates should complete the NDA I 2023 application form online. After the application form is released, a link to it will be provided on this page. The fee is payable both online and in person. Following the completion of the application process, a link to withdraw NDA form 2023 is made available. The following are the steps to fill out the NDA application form:

  • Click on Part 1 of NDA form 2023
  • Register for the exam, choose the preferred branch, verify the details and submit the application form.
  • Registration ID and password will be generated.
  • In Part 2 of the NDA application form, candidates need to pay the application fees, select the exam centre, upload scanned images of photographs and signatures.

NDA 1 2023 Exam Pattern

  • The NDA exam pattern 2023 is divided into two papers: Maths and GAT.
  • Both papers contain objective multiple-choice questions.
  • The Math paper has 120 questions worth 300 marks.
  • The GAT paper contains 150 questions worth 600 marks.

NDA 1 2023 Math Syllabus

NDA question papers for the Mathematics section are of Class 11 and 12 levels. Candidates can clear their math concepts by consulting the NCERT books for Class 11 and 12. The NDA 1 2023 Math Syllabus is given below:

Sets, Venn diagrams, De Morgan laws, Cartesian product, relation, equivalence relation. Real numbers, Complex numbers, Modulus, Cube roots, Conversion of a number in Binary system to Decimals and vice-versa. Arithmetic, Geometric and Harmonic progressions. Integration as inverse of differentiation, integration by substitution and by parts, standard integrals involving algebraic expressions, trigonometric, exponential and hyperbolic functions. Evaluation of definite integrals—determination of areas of plane regions bounded by curves-applications.

Definition of order and degree of a differential equation, formation of a differential equation by examples. General and particular solution of differential equations, solution of first order and first-degree differential equations of various types—examples. Application in problems of growth and decay.

Angles and their measures in degrees and in radians. Trigonometric ratios. Trigonometric identities Sum and difference formulae. Multiple and Sub-multiple angles. Inverse trigonometric functions. Applications-Height and distance, properties of triangles.

Vectors in two and three dimensions, magnitude, and direction of a vector. Unit and null vectors, the addition of vectors, scalar multiplication of a vector, scalar product, or dot product of two vectors. Vector product or cross product of two vectors. Applications—work done by a force and moment of a force and in geometrical problems.

Rectangular Cartesian Coordinate system, Distance formula, Equation of a line in various forms. The angle between two lines. Distance of a point from a line. Equation of a circle in standard and in a general form. Standard forms of parabola, ellipse, and hyperbola. Eccentricity and axis of a conic. Point in a three-dimensional space, the distance between two marks. Direction Cosines and direction ratios. Equation two points. Direction Cosines and direction ratios. Equation of a plane and a line in various forms. Angle between two lines and angle between two planes. Equation of a sphere.

Probability: Random experiment, outcomes, and associated sample space, events, mutually exclusive and exhaustive events, impossible and certain events. Union and Intersection of events. Complementary, elementary, and composite events. Definition of probability—classical and statistical—examples. Elementary theorems on probability-simple problems. Conditional probability, Bayes’ theorem—simple problems. Random variable as function on a sample space. Binomial distribution, examples of random experiments giving rise to Binomial distribution.

NDA SSB Interview 2023

The SSB interview is divided into two stages. The following stages are described in detail:

Screening Test comprises Verbal and non-verbal tests and PPDT.

Stage 2➤
Thematic Apperception Test (TAT), Word Association Test (WAT), Situation Reaction Test (SRT), and Self Description Test are all part of the Psychological Test (SD). The Group Testing Officers Test consists of the following components: GD, GPE, PGT, HGT, IOT, Command Task, Snake Race/Group Obstacle Race, Individual Lecture, and FGT.
