RMS CET 2024 | Notification

The Rashtriya Military Schools (RMS) are residential public schools run by the Ministry of Defence to provide quality education to the wards of defence personnel and civilians from classes 6th to 12th. These schools are the founding members of the Indian Public Schools' Conference (IPSC). Established in the year 1925, these schools are among the oldest public schools in India. There are five Rashtriya Military Schools located at Chail in the Shimla Hills of Himachal Pradesh, Ajmer and Dholpur in Rajasthan, Belgaum and Bengaluru in Karnataka. The candidates are admitted into class 6th and 9th through the RMS CET exam. The full form of RMS CET is the Rashtriya Military School Common Entrance Test. RMS CET 2024 | Application form

The Common Entrance Test for admission to Classes VI and IX will be held in December 2023 (Expected) and is based on automated OMR.

A candidate (boys or girls) for admission to Class VI must be between the ages of 10 and 12 on March 31, the year of admission.
For admission to Class IX, a candidate (only boys) must be between the ages of 13 and 15 on March 31, the year of admission.
Admission to Classes VI and IX is based on the availability of vacancies.
Parents/students should also be aware that all admissions are for boarders only.

RMS CET 2024 | Application fee

The application form is available for Rs 550/- (Rs 275/- in the case of SC/ST, a copy of the Caste certificate must be submitted).
To obtain an admission form by mail, students/parents must send a self-addressed slip and a demand draught for Rs 600/- (Rs 325/- for SC/ST, plus Rs 50/- postage).

RMS CET 2024 | Eligibility

There are certain eligibility criteria for RMS CET laid by the Rashtriya Military School. The RMS eligibility criteria encompasses age limit and educational qualification which are discussed below:

RMS CET Age limit

RMS Class 6 Age limit- Boys and girls aged 10 to 12 as of March 31, 2023 (born between 01 April 2011 to 31 March 2013, both days inclusive)
RMS Class 9 Age limit- As of March 31, 2023, only boys aged 13 to 15 are eligible (born between 01 April 2008 to 31 March 2010, both days inclusive)

RMS CET Educational qualification

RMS CET Class 6 educational qualification- The candidates should have passed Class V or be studying in Class V and pass it before the date of admission to a Rashtriya Military School.
RMS CET Class 9 educational qualification- For admission into Class IX, the candidate should have passed Class VIII from a government/ recognized school before the date of admission to a Rashtriya Military School.

RMS CET 2024 | Admission Process

The RMS CET admission process starts from the entrance test which is conducted for class 6th and 9th only. To get admission into Rashtriya Military Schools, the candidates have to qualify through the following stages:

RMS CET 2024 | Syllabus

The written test will generally be of Class V standard for Class VI admission and Class VIII standard for Class IX admission. The medium of Question Paper in the Entrance exam is bilingual (English and Hindi both) for Class VI and only in English for Class IX.

RMS CET 2024 | Interview

After qualifying the RMS CET written exam, the candidates will be called for personal interview. The RMS CET interview marks for both the classes are given here:

RMS CET 2024 | Medical Test

All the candidates will be required to undergo medical fitness examination before admission to the Rashtriya Military Schools as per norms/criteria as specified in AFMSF-2 and only in the hospital he has mentioned in the Application Form.

The medical examination will be carried out at only one of the listed hospitals mentioned below with the heading "LIST OF HOSPITALS FOR CONDUCT OF MEDICAL TEST". Candidates found medically unfit by the board of officers at listed hospitals will not be admitted.
The candidate will also be required to remain medically fit during the course of his/her stay at Rashtriya Military School.
The admission of the candidate will be provisional till a fitness certificate is received from the Hospital.
NO CHANGE IN MEDICAL EXAM CENTRE WILL BE ALLOWED.

After passing all the stages, the candidate has to pay the RMS school with caution money (the caution money will be refunded after a candidate finishes schooling from RMS). More details about RMS school fees are given below in the table:

Rashtriya Military Schools Admissions 2024 admit cards will be available online. The RMS admit card 2024 will be available soon. The admit card can be obtained by visiting the official website at rashtriyamilitaryschools.edu.in. To download it, candidates must enter the necessary information such as their application number, date of birth, and so on.

RMS CET 2023 | Result

The RMS entrance exam 2023 results are expected to be released in March 2023. The results will be available at rashtriyamilitaryschools.edu.in. Students must enter their roll number, class, and date of birth to gain access to the results. Following the announcement of the results, students will be called in for an interview, followed by a medical examination.

Dear Rina Singh, Both girls and boys are eligible to apply for RMS Class 6 but only boys are eligible to apply for RMS Class 9 entrance exam.
