The SSC Steno exam is conducted by SSC for the recruitment of Stenographer Grade „C‟ (Group “B‟, Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade „D‟ (Group „C‟) for various Ministries/Departments/Organizations in the Government of India. SSC Stenographer 2023 | Eligibility

The Staff Selection Commission published SSC Stenographer Eligibility in order to select qualified candidates for Stenographer Grade C and Grade D positions. Only those who meet all of the requirements can apply for the exam; otherwise, they will be disqualified at a later stage. SSC Steno Eligibility 2023 considers SSC Steno age limit, qualification, nationality/citizenship, number of attempts, and other factors.

SSC Steno Age limit

Knowing the SSC Steno Age Limit is necessary for candidates to successfully register for the exam. Those who do not meet the SSC Steno age limit will be disqualified at any stage of the examination. As a result, it is one of the most important aspects of the recruitment process. We have listed the commission's maximum and minimum age limits for SSC Stenographer below.
  • Stenographer Grade C- 18 to 30
  • Stenographer Grade D- 18 to 27

SSC Steno Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed class 12th from any Educational Board or any other recognised Board/Institute.
  • Candidates having a diploma/degree through distance learning approved by the Distance Education Bureau, University Grants Commission can also fill in the application form.

SSC Steno Nationality

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

SSC Steno Number of Attempts

There is no capping on the number of attempts for SSC Stenographer. If the age limit of a candidate fulfills the eligibility, he or she can apply for the SSC Steno 2023 recruitment.

SSC Stenographer 2023 | Selection Process

The SSC Steno selection process is divided into two stages which are:
  • Stage 1- Written Test (CBT based)
  • Stage 2- Skill Test
Candidates who achieve the qualifying marks in the examination as prescribed by the Commission will be invited to the Skill Test. The commission may also set qualifying marks for each section of the examination. The SSC Stenographer Skill Test will be of a qualifying nature, with the Commission determining the qualifying standards for different categories of candidates.

SSC Stenographer 2023 | Age relaxation

For candidates from the reserved categories, there is a certain age limit relaxation limit. Candidates from the OBC category will receive a 3-year age relaxation, making their upper age limit 33 for Grade C and 30 for Grade D. SSC Stenographer 2023 | Skill Test

After qualifying the stage 1st which is a computer-based exam, candidates will get the stage 2nd admit card for the SSC Steno skill test 2023. The Skill Test will be of the qualifying variety. For Grade D and C, candidates will be given passages of 800 and 1000 words, respectively. Topics for the SSC Stenographer Skill Test in English/Hindi can include the following:

A passage at the following speed will be dictated to the candidates.
  • 80 words per minute (w.p.m) for 8 minutes for Stenographer Group 'D'
  • 100 words per minute (w.p.m) for 10 minutes for Stenographer Group 'C'
Candidates must transcribe their shorthand notes onto a computer after taking them down. The Skill Test will be of the qualifying variety. For SSC Stenographer 2023, the following transcription times have been set:

SSC Stenographer 2023 | Salary

SSC Stenographer salary vary depending on their grade or C ‘or’ D ‘. Grade ‘C’ stenographers are paid more than Grade ‘D’ stenographers. In addition to his basic salary, he is entitled to House Rent Allowance (HRA), Dearness Allowance (DA), and Travel Allowance (TA) (TA). It is the total amount of your gross salary. The gross salary is further reduced by deductions such as income tax, provident fund, and so on.

  • Step 4: Login into the portal using your

SSC Stenographer 2023 | Result

The SSC Steno result 2023 will be published after one and half months of written test on the official website. Along with the SSC Steno result, the cutoff marks will also be published by the board.
