UPSC CMS Recruitment 2023: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Combined Medical Services Examination to recruit candidates with MBBS degrees for various medical officer positions in two categories. The Commission conducts the recruitment process in two stages, beginning with an objective-type written exam in English, followed by an interview or personality test. The Commission conducts this recruitment annually and sends out an official notification in April with all of the necessary details. UPSC CMS 2023 Notification: The Union Public Service Commission has published the official UPSC CMS 2023 notification on the official website upsc.gov.in. Eligible candidates may apply online for the position of Medical Officer Grade in the Central Health Service's General Duty Medical Officers Sub-cadre, Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways, General Duty Medical Officer in the New Delhi Municipal Council, and General Duty Medical Officer Grade II in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

UPSC CMS 2023 Eligibility

Candidates who apply for the examination must ensure that they meet all eligibility requirements for admission to the examination. Their admission will be purely provisional at all stages of the examination, subject to meeting the prescribed eligibility conditions. The UPSC CMS eligibility criteria encompass nationality, age limit and educational qualifications:

UPSC CMS Nationality

A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia with the intention of permanently settling in India.

UPSC CMS Age limit

A candidate for this examination must not be older than 32 years old on August 1, 2023, i.e. the candidate must have been born no earlier than August 2, 1991. However, the upper age limit for Medical Officers Grade in the General Duty Medical Officers Subcadre of Central Health Services must not exceed 35 (thirty-five years) as of August 1, 2023.

A candidate should have passed and appearing the M.B.B.S. degree from any recognized university or institution in India.

  • The written exam is worth 500 marks, while the personality test is worth 100 marks.
