What is Super TET 2026 Exam?

The full form of Super TET exam is Super Teacher Eligibility Test. Super TET is a state-level eligibility exam in Uttar Pradesh. It is conducted by the Basic Education Board of Uttar Pradesh to recruit primary and secondary level teachers in government schools. 

Candidates who want to teach classes 1 to 8 in UP's government schools, must have a UP Super TET qualification certificate. It is conducted once every year & only Uttar Pradesh residents can apply for this exam. Candidates who have cleared Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) or Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) in 2026 can apply for the Super TET 2026.

Eligibility Criteria for Super TET 2026

Candidates must be aware of their educational requirements and age restriction in order to be eligible to apply online for the SUPER TET 2026 exam. Applicants will be disqualified and their applications will be rejected if they do not meet the eligibility criteria.

The primary eligibility requirements for the SUPER TET exam 2026 are graduation and passing the UPTET/CTET exam. Basic SUPER TET eligibility criteria are stated as below:

• Diploma in Elementary Education OR
• Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
• Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks (Mandatory)
• Graduation OR
• Graduation and B.Ed (Bachelor of Education).
• UPTET Paper-1/ CTET Paper-1 Exam.

The eligibility criteria include age, educational qualifications, nationality, and other factors.

Eligibility For Super TET - Age Limit And Age Relaxation

To be eligible to give Super TET 2026, candidate's age must be:

• General Candidate:  21 Years - 40 Years.
• SC/ST/OBC Candidate: 5 Years age relaxation that of general. 
• PwD Candidate: Must be less than 55 years on appointment date. 

Note: Only candidates from Uttar Pradesh Domicile can give Super TET exam.

Eligibility for Super TET - Educational Qualification

To apply for government teacher positions in Uttar Pradesh, candidates must fulfill the Super TET educational qualification requirements. Depending on the position or paper for which the candidates have applied, the SUPER TET educational qualifications differ. Educational eligibility requirements for both paper 1 & paper 2 are listed below: 

Educational qualification for primary teachers (class 1st to 5th)

Candidates interested in teaching primary classes (1 to 5) can attempt paper 1 after confirming if they meet the Super TET's educational eligibility requirements, which are listed below:

• You must have earned a 2-year diploma in elementary education and passed class 12 with at least a 50% marks OR
• You must have completed class 12 with at least 50% marks and have four years' elementary education (B.EI.Ed) degree. OR
• You must have completed your class 12 education with at least a 50% marks and your final year of the two-year diploma in education (Special Education) OR
• You must have earned a graduate degree and a two-year elementary education diploma. OR
• You have completed both graduation and bachelor’s in education (B.Ed) degree.

Educational Qualification For Secondary Teachers (Classes 6 to 8)

Candidates who are interested in teaching classes 6 to 8 can attempt paper 2 after confirming if they meet the Super TET's paper 2 educational eligibility requirements, which are listed below:

• You must hold both bachelor's degree and a BTC from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). OR
• A bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed or B.Ed Special Education from the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). OR
• Completed class 12th with at least 50% marks and 4 years in B.A/B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed from N.C.T.E and UGC recognized institute. OR
• Completed class 12th with at least 50% marks and 4 years in B.El.Ed in primary education. OR
• You must hold a bachelor's degree with at least 45% marks and a B.Ed degree.

Steps To Apply Online for Super TET 2026

• Step 1: Visit official website: updeled.gov.in. 
• Step 2: Click on Super TET 2026 notification and apply online.
• Step 3: Enter all the necessary details as required.
• Step 4: Submit all documents.
• Step 5: Submit the scanned photos and signature.
• Step 6: Pay the application fees.

Super TET 2026 Application Fee

Online application form submission for UP Super TET will be completed only after successful online payment of the application fee. Fee payment can be made using internet banking, debit card, credit card, or another method.

Super TET selection process consists of 2 stages:

1. Written Test
2. Merit list

Final Selection Process

The final selection process for the SUPER TET (UP assistant teacher) 2026 takes into account a number of factors, including 10% of the total percentages earned in high school, intermediate, graduation, and teacher training certificates, as well as 60% of the written exam for the Super TET. Thus, the weighted average of the written exam and academic marks will be used to determine the overall cutoff.

The UP Super TET exam qualifying scores are determined by the UP Board. Cut-off marks depend upon a number of parameters, including the number of openings, the number of applications, the difficulty of the exam, etc.
