UP TET Notification 2026
The UPTET Notification 2026 has been released on 20th March 2026 official website. As per the notification the application process will start from 27th March 2026 to 26th April 2026 at https://upessc.up.gov.in/, the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET Exam 2026) has been scheduled for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th July 2026. The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is the minimum qualification required in India for an appointment as a teacher in Classes I to VIII. The exam is required for teaching positions in Indian government schools. Similarly, after UPTET, the UP government instituted another qualifying exam known as Super TET. The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) conducts TET examinations (UPTET) to select primary and junior teachers once a year. The UPTET written examination consists of two papers

UPTET Application Fee 2026
Candidates have to pay the UPTET Application fee to submit the UP TET application form successfully. The application fee is given below. The candidates applying for single or both papers have to pay extra fee as mentioned in the below table.

UPTET Notification 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Every year, lakhs of candidates appear for the UP TET exam. Candidates who are aspiring to be eligible as government teacher have to take this exam first. The UP TET eligibility criteria are similar to other TET exams, which are HTET, PSTET, REET etc. The UPTET eligibility criteria include age limit, educational qualification, number of attempts. The UP TET eligibility criteria are given below:
UPTET Age limit For Primary Level
For general category candidates, the minimum age limit is 18 years, and the maximum age limit is 35 years. According to government regulations, there is an age relaxation for reserved categories. The age relaxations for various categories are as follows:
- OBC/SC/ST candidates: 5 years
- PWD candidates: 15 years
- Ex-servicemen: 5 years
UPTET Junior Level Age limit
The general category candidates must be at least 21 years old and no older than 40 years old. According to government regulations, there is an age relaxation for reserved categories. The age relaxations for various categories are as follows:
- OBC/SC/ST candidates: 5 years
- PWD candidates: 15 years
- Ex-servicemen: 5 years
UP TET 2026 Educational Qualification
UPTET Paper-I (Primary Teacher – Class 1 to 5)
You can apply if you have done any one of these:
- Graduation + 2-year DElEd (or studying in final year)
- Graduation + BTC (distance or regular)
- Graduation with 50% marks + doing BEd
- Graduation with 45% marks + completed BEd
- Graduation + BTC in Urdu
- Graduation + teaching diploma from AMU
- Graduation + Moavill-E-Urdu (before 1997)
- 12th with 50% marks + 4-year BElEd course
UPTET Paper-II (Upper Primary Teacher – Class 6 to 8)
You can apply if you have done any one of these:
- Graduation + 2-year DElEd (BTC)
- Graduation with 50% marks + BEd (or studying)
- 12th with 50% marks + 4-year BScEd or BSc BEd
- 12th with 50% marks + 4-year BElEd
- Graduation with 50% marks + 1-year BEd
Number of Attempts for UPTET
- There is no limit on the number of attempts a candidate appears for the exam.
UPTET Notification 2026 Selection Process
The UPTET Selection Process 2026 begins with the Paper 1 and 2 written exams and ends with the announcement of the UPTET certificate of eligibility. The UPTET recruitment exam is held annually to determine candidates' eligibility to become government teachers in Uttar Pradesh state-affiliated schools. Candidates advance in the UPTET selection process only if they pass the first written exam stage. If a candidate wishes to be considered for a position teaching classes 1-8, they must take both UPTET Paper 1 and UPTET Paper 2.

UPTET Exam 2026 Admit Card
UPTET Admit Card 2026 will be available on the official UPBEB website about ten days before the exam. The UPTET Exam 2026 will conduct from July 2, 3, and 4, 2026. The state-level exam is held to determine aspirants' eligibility to teach in Uttar Pradesh public schools. The UPTET exam will be administered in two shifts.1st and 2nd Papers.
UPTET Result 2026
UPBEB will publish the UPTET Result 2026 on the official website for both Paper 1 and Paper 2. Using their registration ID and password, applicants can log in and download their UPTET results. After the result and UPTET certificate of eligibility are released, the UPTET exam 2026 and answer key will be made available.

- Step 1: Visit the official website of UPTET i.e. https://updeled.gov.in/
- Step 2: Click on “UPTET Apply Online “ in the menu bar.
- Step 3: Register for the UPTET by filling out the required details (name, date of birth, gender, address, etc.)
- Step 4: Now apply by using the registration details
- Step 5: Upload scanned images of the photograph and signature both.
- Step 6: Pay the required application fee.
- Step 7: Submit the UP TET application form and take out the printout for future reference.
