The SBI Preliminary Examination consists of an objective Test for 100 marks. it will be conducted online. Furthermore, the test will have 3 Sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows:

The main exam will be administered online and will consist of 200-mark Objective Tests and a 50-point Descriptive Test. Candidates must type their responses on a computer for the Descriptive Test, which will be administered immediately after the Objective Test.

- Selection criteria for Phase III: A category-wise merit list will be created based on the total number of marks secured in Phase II (Main Exam). Additionally, there will be no sectional severance.
- At last, candidates from the top of the category-wise merit list, numbering up to three times (approx.) the number of vacancies, will be shortlisted for Phase III, subject to a candidate scoring the minimum aggregate qualifying score, as determined by the Bank.
SBI PO Recruitment 2026 Group Discussion & Interview
Psychometric Test: The Bank may conduct a Psychometric test for personality profiling, of those candidates who will be shortlisted for Phase III. The findings of the test may be placed before the Interview panel to have a thorough perspective on the candidates.

SBI PO Recruitment 2026 Final Selection
Candidates must qualify in both Phase II and Phase III separately. For preparing the final merit list, the marks obtained in the Main Examination (Phase II), both in the Objective Test and the Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in Phase III. The bank will not add the Preliminary Examination (Phase I) marks when preparing the final merit list for selection.
The marks obtained by the candidates in Phase II (Main Examination both Objective & Descriptive Tests) and Phase III (Group Exercise & Interview) will be normalized to 100 marks as detailed below.
