DRDO GTRE Apprenticeship 2023 | Merit List
The DRDO GTRE Apprenticeship 2023 is merit based exam. The DRDO GTRE Apprenticeship 2023 merit list will be created on the basis of marks obtained in academics of a candidate. The merit list will be issued from 6th April 2023 onwards.

DRDO GTRE Apprenticeship 2023 | Medical Fitness
The candidate should be in good health. Candidates who are ultimately selected must present a Fitness Certificate issued by an authorised Medical Officer of any Government Hospital in the format specified by GTRE at the time of joining. Certificates issued by ESIC hospitals will not be accepted. COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate is required for both doses. The final selection of the candidate is based on his or her ability to meet the health standards outlined in the Apprentices Act of 1961 and the Apprenticeship Rules of 1992, as amended from time to time.

Q1. What is an apprenticeship?
Ans. Apprenticeship is a Skill Training programme in which a person is hired as an apprentice by a company and receives classroom (theory) learning followed by on-the-job (practical) training.
Q2. What is the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme?
Ans. The National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) is a new scheme launched by the Government of India to provide financial assistance to establishments pursuing apprenticeship training. It was released on August 19, 2016.
Q3. What is the use of National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme for students?
Ans. To encourage apprenticeship training throughout the country. To provide financial assistance to establishments in order for them to participate in apprenticeship programmes in the following ways:

(i) To assist establishments (particularly MSMEs) in engaging apprentices under the Apprentices Act and paying stipends at prescribed rates, wherein the Government of India reimburses such establishments for 25% of prescribed stipends up to a maximum of Rs. 1500/- per month per apprentice under NAPS.

(ii) To assist establishments (particularly MSMEs), the Government of India reimburses them per apprentice for a maximum of 500 hours (to be calculated at Rs. 15/hour) /or to the Basic Training Provider engaged by them under NAPS.
Q4. What is the basic training through NAPS?
Ans. The theoretical and practical/lab instruction portions of each Apprenticeship Programme syllabi relating to a specific trade in which on-the-job training is to be imparted comprise basic training. For those who have not received any institutional training/skill training prior to beginning on-the-job training/practical training, basic training is an essential component of apprenticeship training. Prior to being moved to the Shop Floor/Work Area for practical training / On-Job Training, fresher apprentices receive basic training to acquire a reasonable ability to handle Instruments/Machineries/Equipment independently.
Q5. What is the duration of basic training through NAPS?
Ans. Basic Training typically accounts for 20-25% of the overall Apprenticeship Programme duration, but this can vary depending on the curriculum's specific requirements.
