• To be eligible for the JNVST Class 6 exam, candidates must be between 9 and 11 years old. A candidate seeking admission must not have been born before May 1, 2015, or after July 31, 2017.
• To be eligible, candidates must be in Class V at a government-recognized school or complete the 'B' Certificate Competency Course of the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) in the same district.
• To be eligible for the rural quota, candidates must have completed and passed classes III, IV, and V at a government-recognized rural school for one full academic year.
• Candidates who have not been promoted or admitted to Class-V by September 30th are not eligible to apply.

• At least one-third of the total seats are reserved for girls
• OBC students will be given a 27% reservation in addition to SC and ST students.
