GPAT 2023 | Notification

Application forms for the GPAT 2023 are now available. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the application window for GPAT 2023 on the official website on February 13, 2023. Candidates can register online for the MPharma exam from February 13, 2023. Currently, NTA is not announcing the date of the GPAT exam, but candidates can expect the GPAT exam to be held in April 2023. The 2023 GPAT exam will be organised and administered by the National Testing Agency, NTA. The GPAT registration window will remain open until March 13, 2023 (upto 11.50 pm).

GPAT 2023 | Overview

GPAT 2023 is administered by The National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MPharma or equivalent degree programmes. The results are accepted by 800 participating institutes and all All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) approved institutions and universities. The exam was previously administered by the AICTE until 2017.

GPAT 2023 | Application Fee

GPAT 2023 Application Forms can only be submitted online. No applications will be accepted via post or email. GPAT registration involves the following steps-
Step 1- Register for the Online Application Form and note down the system-generated Application Number. Enter all the required details, set a Password, and create login credentials.
Step 2- Fill and Complete GPAT Application Form 2023 – Login with the system-generated User ID and Password. Enter your personal, academic, and other details.
Step 3- Scan Photo and Signature as per the defined standards. Failing to do so will result in the cancellation of the candidature.
Step 4- Pay Examination Fee by SBI MOPS, Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or e-Challan. The fee varies depending on the candidate's category.

GPAT 2023 | Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for appearing in the 2023 GPAT, the national-level entrance exam, are as follows-
  • The candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or equivalent from a recognised university.
  • Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination for a bachelor’s degree whose result will be declared before the commencement of admission for the academic year 2023-23 can also apply.
  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • There is no age restriction for appearing on the national-level entrance exam.

GPAT 2023 | Admission Process

The admission process for the PG entrance test started with the registration process. Candidates had to fill out the application form and submit it to the NTA, who issue the admit cards to the candidates who wrote the examination.
The admission process began with registration for the exam. Applicants for the PG entrance test are required to register themselves on the official website. After completing the registration process, applicants could fill out the application form.
After successful submission, the applications will be reviewed. The applicants whose applications are accepted by NTA will receive the admit card. The applicants then have to appear for an online test.
The results will be announced for the applicants who will take the test, after which the applicants who qualify for the test will attend the counselling sessions.
To participate in the counselling, applicants must apply separately to the desired institution/university. The participating institution will base on the applications received and announce the minimum score (cut-off). Applicants who score within the cut-off range will be admitted to that institute.

GPAT 2023 | Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for the GPAT is provided below-
  • Exam mode: the exam will be CBT (Computer Based Test).
  • Medium: The medium of the exam is English.
  • Duration: The total duration of the exam is 3 hours.
  • Grading scheme: For each correct answer, candidates will get 4 points.
  • Negative grading: 1 point will be deducted for each wrong answer.

GPAT 2023 | Answer Key

The GPAT final answer key is released along with the results. NTA first releases provisional answer keys. Candidates are required to log in using the application number and password or date of birth to download the answer key. The GPAT 2023 answer key contains all the answers to the questions asked in the examination. Candidates can calculate and estimate their scores using the provisional answer key. They had the option to challenge the answer key by paying INR 200 per question till May 2, 11.50 pm.

GPAT 2023 | Result

GPAT results are released online by NTA. The results are published in the form of scorecards that can be downloaded as PDFs. In order to check the scorecard for the national level exam, candidates must log in with their mail ID and roll number on the official website.

GPAT 2023 | FAQs

Q. I have just completed class XII. Can I appear for NTA GPAT 2023?

Ans- No. GPAT is an entrance examination for the PG course in Pharmacy. Therefore, having a bachelor’s degree is required to appear for NTA GPAT 2023.

Q. How many choices do I get while selecting an exam conducting city for NTA GPAT 2023?

Ans-  While filling out the GPAT application form 2023, candidates will be able to choose three cities in order of preference. Accordingly, NTA will allocate a suitable exam centre to the candidates.

Q. What will be the mode of exam?

Ans- The GPAT 2023 examination will be conducted in online mode (Computer Based Mode) only.

Q. How many questions will there be on the GPAT 2023 exam?

Ans-  A total of 125 questions will be asked in the GPAT 2023 exam, with three hours allotted to answer them. In the GPAT exam, there will only be objective-type (MCQ questions).
