Nationality
The interested candidate must be a citizen of India to be eligible for this post. If not, the candidate can still be considered eligible if he/she is either:
- A subject of Nepal/Bhutan
- A Tibetan refugee settled permanently in India (since 1962).
- A person of Indian origin settled permanently in India from countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Vietnam, and other East African countries.
Education Qualification
- Education Qualification for EO/AO posts- A bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognised university
- Education Qualification for APFC posts-
- Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation) in Any Stream from any recognised university in India will be eligible for this post.

UPSC EPFO 2025 Selection Process
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct 02 stages of the recruitment process to recruit candidates for Enforcement Officer (EO), Accounts Officer (AO), and Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner (APFC) posts. The selection process for EPFO Recruitment 2025 comprises the written exam and interview.
Stage 1- Recruitment Test
- Mode: Offline
- Type of Questions: Objective-type test (Multiple Choice Questions).
- Duration: 2 hours
- Marks: 300 marks
- No. of Questions: 120, with each question of 2.5 marks.
- Negative Marking: A penalty of 1/3rd of the marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
- Language: The test is bilingual (Hindi and English), except for the General English section.
Stage 2- Interview/Personality Test
- Motive: To analyze the candidate’s personality and suitability to the post.
- Total Marks: 100 marks, which contribute 25% to the final selection.
- Qualifying Marks: Minimum qualifying marks are different category-wise: 50 for General/EWS, 45 for OBC, and 40 for SC/ST/PH.
UPSC EPFO 2025 Exam Pattern
The UPSC EPFO 2025 selection process includes a written exam and an interview.
- After passing the written test, candidates will be called for the interview round.
- The written exam is offline (pen and paper-based) and is called the Recruitment Test (RT).
- It will have Objective Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
- The duration of the exam will be 2 hours.
- All questions will carry equal marks.
- There is a negative marking of one-third of the marks assigned to each question

UPSC EPFO Salary 2025
The candidates who clear all stages of the selection process for the EPFO exam will be paid a monthly salary. As per the 7th Pay Commission, the salary is based on Level 8 in the pay matrix, which means the basic pay ranges from ₹43,600 to ₹55,200. The total pay scale is around ₹9,300 to ₹34,800.
